We believe your health data belongs to you — and only you.
This Privacy Policy describes how rutin ("we", "our", or "us") handles your information when you use the rutin iOS application. We've written this in plain language because we believe you deserve to understand exactly what happens with your data.
rutin collects only what you explicitly enter into the app:
All personal data — including health data, routines, sleep logs, water intake, and period tracking — is stored exclusively on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.
We do not operate servers that store your personal data. We cannot access, view, or recover your data remotely.
All subscription purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We never collect, store, or see your payment information (credit card numbers, billing addresses, etc.).
Apple provides us with non-identifying information about subscription status (active, expired, cancelled) via StoreKit to determine whether you have premium access. Apple's handling of payment data is governed by their Privacy Policy.
rutin uses local notifications for routine reminders, water intake nudges, and trial expiry alerts. These notifications are generated and scheduled entirely on your device. No notification data is sent to external servers.
You can manage notification permissions at any time in: Settings → Notifications → rutin.
rutin does not use any third-party analytics SDKs (such as Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, or Amplitude). We do not track your behaviour across apps or websites. We do not use advertising identifiers (IDFA).
We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for advertising purposes.
We understand that period and cycle tracking data is deeply personal and sensitive. All period tracking data in rutin is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted, synced to our servers, or shared with any third party. We cannot access it. Only you can.
Your data lives on your device for as long as the app is installed. To delete all rutin data, simply delete the app from your device. Since we hold no server-side copies of your personal data, deletion of the app is sufficient to remove all your information from existence.
If you delete the app, all data is permanently removed.
rutin is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has used the app and entered personal information, please contact us and we will advise how to remove it from the device.
Because your data is stored locally on your device rather than on our servers, the security of your data is protected by your device's own security (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID) and Apple's iOS encryption. We recommend keeping your device software up to date and enabling device encryption.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. For material changes, we will notify you through an in-app notice.
